:I'm not sure how to explain this. I'll start by saying that yes, he's not from Metal Gear, he is, as you say, from Starfox. It's strange that he's talking to Snake as the games that Snake was in were meant to be quite realistic, but the Starfox series was about small animals that fly spaceships and fire lasers at one another (i.e. unrealistic). Characters from both series have smash taunts in Brawl (Snake, Fox and Falco) in which they talk to people from their own series on their radios, so the idea of the Codec Messages in which Slippy talks to Snake is that Slippy (who is an electronics and engineering genius) has somehow hacked into Snake's Codec's frequency and is talking to him using the radio Slippy normally uses to talk to Fox and Falco. It's supposed to be funny, in a weird way. Deletion
Strong Delete interesting, but it doesn't deserve it's own article. maybe on a list of easter eggs or something trivial like that. FyreNWater - (Talk • Contributions ) 03:54, February 28, 2008 (EST)
Keep I would like to be able to see these, even if they would just be on a FAQ or something, since it goes into more specific character details than the Star Fox/Star Wolf team's convos.
- Keep I'd like to keep this article, you know, as a reference. - Brawlmatt202 09:20, February 28, 2008 (EST)
Keep There's definitely enough good info here to warrant a page. Zixor (talk) 07:33, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
Snake vs Snake - Probably false
I'm pretty sure the Snake translation being passed around is false. Various aspects of it don't match the Japanese- for example there's a line ending in "..?" in Japanese which isn't a question in the 'translation', there's one line in the translation that is only a few words but it's two full sentences in Japanese, and try as I might I could not hear "Sakurai" in the Japanese. Webrunner 18:23, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Well it's moot anyway... the English one has been posted on Youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvBVT0iBqDg ) and it seems to be a better match than the 'translation' Webrunner 18:42, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Damn, if only I had realized it was false before watching the YouTube one... - BattleFranky202 01:34, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
Luigi's Codec: The heck?
Um... can someone give me a hint of what's going on in that one? User:Max2/Sig —Preceding unsigned comment added by Max2 (talk • contribs) 19:38, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- "La li lu le lo" was a code in MGS I believe. It's just some Metal Gear humour; Hideo Kojima's like that.--Richard 19:39, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
Starting
How do you start one of these? MegaMario9910
You start one by repeatedly tapping Snake's Down Taunt. You will know if you do it correctly. Sincerely, The Boring Click.
Why is he only scared b Ike and King dedede?
Why does he complain that ike and dedede are big, yet joke about it in refernce to bowser? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.10.116.46 (talk • contribs) 17:08, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

- At the bottom of the article in the trivia section strange things alledgedly happen if heartswap is used on snake during the codec message. Carbonkirby 21:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
More on Sonic codec
Wasn't Snake's codec of Sonic a reference to Sonic's seiyuu or something? I forgot the exact details. 24.58.143.68 21:46, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
The Snake's dislike of Sonic is a reference to some types of hedgehogs eating snakes (Benji Man) 14:16, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- That's the widely accepted theory. Let's just leave it at that. Carbonkirby 14:21, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- But Snake is just a codename. I think it's far more likely relating to certain Nintendo fans' animosity for Sonic and Mario fighting in the same game after being gaming rivals for so long. Or something to do with Kojima liking Nintendo more than Sega, so I've heard... -Gargomon251 20:37, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe it is the whole they're both third party characters and Sonic stole Snake's thunder theory. But seriosly, we can speculate all day but it seems like we're thinking too deep into something that isn't really important.Carbonkirby 00:26, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

smash ball graphic limitations
"When someone gets a Smash Ball during a Codec conversation, or if a codec conversation starts when a character already has a Smash Ball, any codec conversation automatically ends, most likely because of the graphical limitations." -What evidence is there that this is "most likely because of the graphical limitations"? Zixor (talk) 07:36, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- It says most likely, meaning that it is not proved and is only a theory. Friedbeef1 Love 23:48, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
-Any actual evidence? Zixor (talk) 00:16, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Pit notes
"NOTE: This is a reference both to the infamous difficulty of the Kid Icarus game, and Metal Gear Solids infamous Game Over screen, where a character cries out to Solid Snake as he dies."
I don't happen to think that this reference necessarily has anything to do with the difficulty of the original Kid Icarus NES game (challenging though it may initially be). Certainly there is license to discern a connection to the Metal Gear Solid franchise, though I don't feel the specifics need to be explained in as much detail. Zixor (talk) 00:03, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
One player...
A certain Brawl hack forces a match to start with only one player (no CPUs, or anything). An example of the weird behavior this causes comes from Mr. Resetti, who will be forced to say his own name instead of a nonexistent second character. I got around to wondering: if Snake did a codec call like this, would it automatically do the "vs. Snake" codec, or would there be a different effect? Miles (talk) 02:54, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm... that's pretty interesting. It also leads to a what-if situation with Manaphy should it only be one player. Friedbeef1Screech 03:21, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Pit Conversation
When Snake theorises that Pit is a mutant, is that a reference to X-Men and the mutant character Angel? {{SUBST:User:Xavius/Signature}} 13:42, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
