The Clu Clu Land universe (クルクルランド, Clu Clu Land) refers to the Super Smash Bros. series' collection of properties that hail from the Clu Clu Land series of puzzle games developed and published by Nintendo. Originating on the NES, the series has had a variety of references in other Nintendo properties since its debut.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee

Bubbles, the protagonist of Clu Clu Land, appears as a trophy.

Bubbles was a contender for a fighter representing the early NES era, before that role was taken by the Ice Climbers.[citation needed]

Bubbles
The mysterious Bubbles can only move straight ahead and has problems stopping; she changes paths by sticking out her hand and grabbing a post on the way by. If Bubbles makes contact with a Sea Urchin, she'll pop and deflate like a balloon. Bubbles protects herself by shocking Sea Urchins and pushing them into walls to destroy them.
Clu Clu Land (10/85)

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl

The Unira enemy from Clu Clu Land appears as an item, as well as a trophy. Additionally, a medley based on the game's music, simply titled Clu Clu Land, is available in My Music on Summit.

Unira
In Clu Clu Land, the Unira hid gold ingots in an underwater maze, then tried to stop Bubbles from getting them. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, if you pick up an Unira and throw it, it will stick to the surface it lands on. Not only do its spines hurt, but it gently pulls in foes who stand near it. Once it's jabbed someone, Unira retracts its spines and can once again be picked up.
NES: Clu Clu Land

In Super Smash Bros. 4

The Unira returns as an item and trophy. The Clu Clu Land music returns in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U as a track for Duck Hunt.

PAL This blue ball's looks can be deceiving! When you throw or attack it, sharp spikes burst out and turn it into a real prickly nuisance! If you're the one who triggered it, though, don't worry – you're safe. With that in mind, stick it to a wall or ceiling in a narrow spot to really do some damage!
NES: Clu Clu Land (02/1987)

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The Unira returns as an item, and the Clu Clu Land music track from Brawl returns. Additionally, Bubbles and a Unira both appear as spirits.
