The game was re-released on Nintendo Switch Online in January 2019 in Japan. It was later released on Nintendo Switch Online in September 2023 in North America, marking its international debut.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee
In a posting on the official Q&A site for Melee, director Masahiro Sakurai mentioned that Sukapon had been planned as an item for that game, but was cut because of unspecified "adult matters". Sakurai mentions that characters would have been able to ride Sukapon.
