gav, formerly known as Nova, is an American smasher. He began playing on Kaillera in 2009 when he was completely new to the game, but over time he learned and improved greatly. He is not a very technical player but makes up for it with his good spacing and the ability to read his opponent well. He is currently ranked 2nd on the Georgia Power Rankings. In 2018 at console tournaments he took sets from ReefyBeefy, Birra, B33F (who was ranked 56th in the 2018 64 League Rankings) and the controversial Studstill, among others.
Online compentency
gav has performed fairly well in online events recently placing 1st in an online bracket made up of top EU players in which he defeated Hartinator in winner's finals and grand finals. He has taken sets off of many well known players in online tournaments and ladders, including multiple set wins and a winning record vs KoRoBeNiKi, other victories include set wins vs: Combo Blaze, Killer, tacos, Kimimaru, Battlecow, Loto, Mahie, Shears, Get $$$, B Link, Robert, Preston and Cobr. Was ranked 3rd on the Smashladder Smash 64 New Years Day Season(January 1st, 2015-January 31st, 2016) with a record of 36-3. He was also atop earlier ladders such as the AllisBrawl and SmashBoards ladders for Smash 64.
