Ludwig Ahgren Championship Series 5 is an ongoing Super Smash Bros. Melee invitational tournament held from July 7th-9th, 2023 by YouTube streamer Ludwig. It is the first tournament in the series to be held in-person, being in Covina, California. 12 players were directly invited to tournament, and 4 more players qualified from the Open Qualifier on July 7th. The prize pool is $50,001, which is the ninth largest prize pool for a Melee tournament.

Format

The main singles event will have a total of 16 players, with 12 directly invited players and 4 players qualifying through the Open Qualifier. There will be Swiss system pools and a final bracket. 8 players will move on from the group stage to play in the final bracket. Swiss pools Rounds 1-3 will be played on July 8th, and Rounds 4-5 will be played on July 9th. The Top 8 final bracket will be played to completion on July 9th. All sets at the event will best of 5, in both Open Qualifier and main singles.[1]

The following 12 players were invited:

*Jmook dropped out due to a health issue. KoDoRiN was moved from the Open Qualifier to the main singles event as the replacement player.[2]
