While the frequency of events has slowed, tournaments for Ultimate, Melee and recently Guilty Gear: Strive are held bi-annually. In the past, Nickel City Smash ran Project M, and Project+ brackets at their events with a healthy turnout. Nickel City Smash is the largest regional tournament in Northern Ontario and typically features players from Sudbury's surrounding areas like North Bay, Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie, Orillia and Barrie.
