Dialga (ディアルガ, Dialga) is a creature from the Pokémon series.
Origin
Dialga is a Steel/Dragon-type Legendary Pokémon and the version mascot of Pokémon Diamond and its remake Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. Dialga is categorized within the Pokédex at #483 as the "Temporal Pokémon". It has the ability to control time, and it is revered as a deity in Sinnoh's lore. In Pokémon Diamond, Team Galactic attempts to use its power to recreate the universe with Cyrus as a ruler. After defeating Cyrus at Spear Pillar, the player has a chance to battle and catch Dialga. In Pokemon Legends Arceus, Dialga can transform into its Origin Form using the Adamant Crystal.
Roar of Time is a special Dragon-type move with 150 base power and 90% accuracy. After the move is used successfully, the user cannot act on the next turn. Roar of Time is Dialga's signature move, and thus Dialga is the only Pokémon able to learn it naturally.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
As a stage element
Dialga is one of three Legendary Pokémon that can appear and cause battle effects on the Spear Pillar stage, alongside Palkia and Cresselia. When the stage has a blue tint, either Dialga or Cresselia is the Pokémon for the match. Dialga can cause several different effects on the battle:
- Tilting the screen by a random amount (between 10 and 30 degrees) to the left or right.
- Causing an earthquake, breaking either the left, right or middle third of the upper ground.
- Firing a vertical blue Hyper Beam covering a third of the stage, either the left, right or middle.
- Firing a horizontal blue Hyper Beam through the cave area.
- Jumping off of the pedestal to the center of the stage and using Roar of Time, emitting an aura around it that damages nearby players with strong knockback.
- Slowing down the passage of time, similarly to the Timer item.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Dialga has no gameplay-related role, appearing only as a trophy.
Trophy
Dialga's trophy is exclusive to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, where it is part of the Legend of Pokémon Diamond & Pokémon Pearl Trophy Box.
- Dialga
- The concept of time has always been one of the world's great mysteries, but Dialga might hold the answer. Legend has it that Dialga's birth caused time to begin moving! It's no surprise that the people of Sinnoh see this Pokémon as a deity. If you're ever running late, maybe you could ask Dialga to do you a favour and turn back the clock.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
As a stage element
Dialga reprises its role as a stage hazard on the returning Spear Pillar stage. Spear Pillar now allows for any of the three Legendary Pokémon to appear each time, rather than being set for the whole match. Unlike in Brawl, Cresselia is now signified by the stage's color tint not changing from its new default green, rather than using Dialga's blue.
Spirit
Dialga appears as a spirit in Ultimate. It is an Ace rank Primary Spirit of the Grab type.
Dialga's Spirit battle involves defeating Giant Lucario on Spear Pillar. The battle conditions are:
- The enemy will suddenly have a Final Smash
- Periodic earthquakes will shake the stage after a little while
- The enemy is giant
For this battle, Dialga is the only one of Spear Pillar's three Pokémon that will appear on the stage.

Trivia
- Dialga is the only member of the "creation trio" (Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, and the trio master, Arceus), and thus the only Generation IV game mascot to have never appeared as a Poké Ball Pokémon.
- Dialga's roars in Brawl were created by altering the sea dragon Manda's roars from the Godzilla film franchise, specifically from Godzilla: Final Wars.
