Listing characters that were not on the original list

This is about Corrin being listed for Earth when he was not in the original list, but can be used to establish precedent in general. I'm strongly against power rankings being reported differently than they were released by their original publisher (in this case, PGStats). The reason is that these are not our lists, they are lists made by someone else and should be reported verbatim (including any apparent mistake). I strongly value the document being reported and conserved as is, it's not our job to make any correction; we should not overstep our role as mere reporters. At most, I'd accept a footnote for particularly egregious cases like this one, but it's not a tool that I'd endorse using liberally. --Rdrfc (talk) 14:28, April 20, 2022 (EDT)

As I already stated in the Discord, accurate information is our upmost priority, and if a ranking made a blatant provable mistake with the characters it claimed a player used, it is within our scope to point the mistake out and correct it so that readers are not given false information. "They can go to the smasher's page for the correct information" is not an acceptable solution, when the ranking page is a high traffic page itself, and when it will only cause reader confusion if the pages contradict each other (as well as lead to arguments with inappropriately listing and delisting characters in the infobox due to what's in the rankings, fraudulent secondaries in rankings was part of what caused the problem with players' "Other characters" entries being grossly inflated before).
