Roman began his competitive Smash career in June 2006 when he was only 12 years old. After seeing competitive matches on YouTube, and learning of Kaillera, he began playing SSB64 online and Melee with a friend. He stopped playing both games around 2009, after frustration of there being no nearby scenes to play with.
In January of 2011, Zivilyn Bane, a Melee player from California, moved into Roman's area and contacted him through Smashboards. In March of 2015, Roman had discovered WEEGRO, a Missouri SSB64 player, at a local Springfield SSB64 bar tournament. Upon discovering that a SSB64 scene existed in the state and the game was finally flourishing from all over the world, Roman had decided to retire from Melee in August of 2015, and became an exclusive SSB64 player.
