| In smash 64: This move can be smash di'd out of to prevent the last few hits from hitting, however, by fast falling, the samus user can get out before the opponetn can hit by fast falling. This move also has a trait of sucking in oppontents which allows it to be used easily out of up b's against characters such as yoshi and ness effectively. This move also can cause the 4 shell glitch if timed right 999. Furthurmore in Super Smash Bros., the Screw Attack has invincibility frame(s) in the first few frames of initiating the move. Furthurmore, if the entire move is timed to be used against an opponent while the opponent is defending via going up a platform, it is a shield-break combo. This move does the most damage in the 64 version as well. Also, this move has insane priority allowing a pro samus to be very annoying to be edgeguarded against. However, samus's recovery using this moves goes less than half the vertical altittude than the melee version and is overall weaker further away while trying to grab the edge. This is a big problem with samus in this game and one of the reasons for being such a low tier. The move does 2 (only first hit) to 18/19 damage (last does 3-4). | | In Super Smash Bros., the Screw Attack has invincibility frame(s) in the first few frames of initiating the move. |

| Even though it doesn't suck in opponents as well as in the 64 version, this move is useful out of the shield as a low damage combos and works well against low knockback characters or fast fallers and to get away. Overall, this seems to work better at medium percentages. The samus user Hugs is an example of a samus that uses this trait to its finest. Also, it goes a lot further than in smash 64 and has moderate priority allowing it to be used well for recovery, Also, in Super Smash Bros. Melee, any charging of your Charge Shot will be cancelled if you are hit during this attack in the PAL version of the game. The melee version also has the highest knockback in this version and does medium damage (2-16/17) (first hit does 2 again, last does 3-4.

| In brawl, the move is quite similar to the smash 64 version in that it sucks in its opponents. it goes a similar distance to melee but catches the edge more. Overall, it is a better move but does slightly less damage and has lower knockback. The damage is betwen 2/3 and 16/18 with the last hit normally doing 3-4. while the first hit doing 2-3.

The Screw Attack (スクリューアタック, Sukuryu Atakku) is a moved used by Samus Aran by pressing Up-B. The move shoots Samus into the air and spins her around and around, inflicting damage on any opponents that touch her. Just as in the first Super Smash Bros., the Screw Attack does cumulative damage and sucks opponents into the center. It's also often used to survive from a fall off the stage. This move can also be used as a Rocket K.O when used from the ground on near-by enemies.
The Screw Attack is one of the last special abilities Samus can learn, causing her to spin with electrical energy whenever she jumps, instantly destroying most enemies. Combined with the Space Jump, Samus can continually jump and destroy everything in her way.
In Super Smash Bros., the Screw Attack has invincibility frame(s) in the first few frames of initiating the move.
Unfortunately, in Super Smash Bros. Melee, any charging of your Charge Shot will be cancelled if you are hit during this attack in the PAL version of the game.
