this

I thought it was policy of most wikis, including this one, to make a discussion on the talk page instead of outright removing the tag if you disagree with it (except in very egregious circumstances). I’m not going to add the tag back right now so as to avoid edit warring, but this doesn't seem like an egregious circumstance to immediately remove the tag. 72.203.118.154 05:11, May 8, 2020 (EDT)

Mhm, indeed. And even though I so strongly believe that what you propose will not be accepted, you are correct, we gotta do this right. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 05:25, May 8, 2020 (EDT)

Raichu

Can the part on the SSBU section where Kanto Raichu was mentioned in Pikachu’s Palutena’s Guidance still stay? 174.55.24.64 20:31, June 11, 2020 (EDT)

In my opinion, no, as it's even less interesting than the trivia you tried to add. It was definitely worth adding to that draft page you edited, but mentions generally aren't that interesting. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 20:37, June 11, 2020 (EDT)
To put in my two cents, we do occasionally document mentions on SmashWiki articles, such as Metroid's article stating that it is mentioned in Samus's profile despite not appearing in-game. Raichu's own article even has a SSB4 section listing its Palutena's Guidance mention for this reason.
However, in this case, Raichu does appear in-game in Ultimate, so its mention in Palutena's Guidance isn't as notable anymore in Ultimate; in other words, the mention is superseded by the appearance. So, I agree with Black Vulpine here. Furthermore, while it's implicitly Kanto Raichu due to the guidance originating from SSB4 (predating Alolan Raichu), it's not explicitly distinguished as such, so the edit is incorrect in calling it Kanto Raichu. --PeabodySam (talk) 20:49, June 11, 2020 (EDT)

Weekly tournaments

According to a user on Discord we do allow weekly tournaments on this wiki. However the one you tagged isn't notable enough to warrant a page on here. 001Toad.jpg OmegαToαd64 07:54, June 14, 2020 (EDT)

Oh well, I got it half-right at least. What about the other one? Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 18:05, June 14, 2020 (EDT)
The whole tournament series isn't notable. Well, that's what they said. I'm not that familiar with tournaments to determine exactly what's notable or not. 001Toad.jpg OmegαToαd64 18:44, June 14, 2020 (EDT)
Basically, what he said is, the tournament series has too little attendance, it also has less top players/PR ranked players in attendance compare to the notable ones. Grand Dad.png Naughty🐽GRAND DAD 自閉肥宅 NiceGrand.jpeg 19:41, June 14, 2020 (EDT)
I got that, thank you. :3 Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 19:43, June 14, 2020 (EDT)
No problem. Also welcome back from your 1 year hiatus. Lot's of stuff happened here while you were gone, like wave 1 of Ultimate's DLC... and me joining. 001Toad.jpg OmegαToαd64 19:45, June 14, 2020 (EDT)
Thank you so much. I feel I have grown a lot since then. We shall see how I get on. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 19:52, June 14, 2020 (EDT)

This edit in Smasher:SleepyK

There are a few reasons for why it was changed:

  • As I understand it, custom reasons should only be used if it doesn't fit any of the existing reasons already. The protection was only prompted by vandalism, thus the existing "vandalism" reason takes precedence over a custom one.
  • Even if it was permitted, the custom reason as it is currently written is misleading and not specific to the actual reasoning for the protection. It was protected due to vandalism, not due to the controversy. Stating otherwise would break our protection policy and enable other users to request protection for pages that don't need it, like Smasher:Clementine.

If one requires more context for the protection than "vandalism", it's expected that they check the edit history and logs for the page. If that fails, they can simply ask the admin who protected it for clarification. NokiiSig.png Nokii — 12:17, June 29, 2020 (EDT)

This edit summary

You seem to have misinterpreted this trivia point.

The fighters part is meant to refer to the universes themselves, not their rosters. What the trivia is trying to say is that no female characters from said universe, playable or not, are present anywhere in Smash.

Even if the trivia was about universes without playable female fighters, then the list is missing Donkey Kong, Kirby, Star Fox, EarthBound, F-Zero, Wario, Metal Gear, Sonic, Pikmin, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Xenoblade, Duck Hunt (unless the Duck is a girl :P), Street Fighter, Castlevania, Persona, and Dragon Quest, which at that point would just make the trivia absolutely unnecessary.

So yeah, hope you understand. SmashTurtlesSig1.pngSuperSmashTurtles of the Turtle TribeSmashTurtlesSig2.png 06:43, July 26, 2020 (EDT)

Personally I think the trivia is unnecessary as it is now, but okay. Thanks for letting me know. Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 18:29, July 26, 2020 (EDT)

Double redirects

Just wanted to mention that you probably don't need to worry too much about double redirects as it turns out there is a bot (SmashWiki Bot) that fixes them automatically (at 4 am EDT). I went ahead and changed the ones earlier because I was bored. --CanvasK (talk) 21:43, August 29, 2020 (EDT)

Yeah, I wondered about that earlier. Thanks for clarifying. Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 21:54, August 29, 2020 (EDT)

InTol

Hey Intol redirect to InTol was deleted but now Intol isn't redirecting to InTol. So it's showing him reclined on the Newfoundland power rankings. Wiifitkid (talk) 12:25, September 25, 2020 (EDT)

Nevermind. I see we are just changing title in the power ranking article. Wiifitkid (talk) 12:26, September 25, 2020 (EDT)
Weird. I actually tested it before flagging those pages. Was I wrong again? Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 16:16, September 25, 2020 (EDT)

This

Though I disagree with the edit, I believe the IP was referring to the Mii Fighters. Aidan, the Rurouni 01:33, September 29, 2020 (EDT)

Yeah, I was thinking that too actually, but like you, I don't believe it counts. Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 04:39, September 29, 2020 (EDT)

"You aren't the first"

I probably should've more fully thought through that tag, yeah. I know there are similar anti-vandalism tags on other pages, but this one is kind of specific to this point in time anyway and tagging it won't really do much. "You aren't the first" is supposed to mean in terms of, "you aren't original for putting in this joke everyone else has done 50 times already," but I didn't phrase that very well either. Either way, yeah, probably better to leave it off. ~ Serena Strawberry (talk) 22:34, October 2, 2020 (EDT)

Definitely. In my experience, putting in such a line will at best do nothing to deter vandals, and at worst, attract them. Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 22:57, October 2, 2020 (EDT)

Daisy edit

Hi there. I just wanted to clear up the situation on the Steve page regarding Daisy, and I think we're both talking about two different moments. You mentioned that her taunts look similar to her victory animations, so I think you're talking about the actual moment she is revealed - right before her fighter card pops up. Meanwhile, I'm talking about the end of that section of the video, before Sakurai reveals Inkling gameplay. During that part, you clearly see Daisy's twirling victory animation. I figured this is the closest thing Daisy has to a trailer, so it belonged with the associated trivia.

So yeah. That's where I'm coming from. I won't edit the page any further, but I wanted to clear this up a bit. Qrow - Bad Luck Charm (talk) 01:36, November 8, 2020 (EST)

I’m interested in investigating this further. Could you please provide me with a video link? Black Vulpine of the 🦊Furry Nation🐺. Furries make the internets go! :3 02:01, November 8, 2020 (EST)
