Add code for a template
Hi! I would like to request adding a code to the InstructionalQuotes template. The code would make the source be from the Wii U manual. (If this isn't where I can put requests, my apologies.) SonDaniel (talk page) 17:25, April 19, 2020 (EDT)
- Is there a Wii U manual? I don't recall. Disaster Flare (talk) 00:15, April 20, 2020 (EDT)
Template:Technical data
Hello, Disaster Flare. I am drafting overviews with Ultimate characters' specific moves. Are regular users supposed to ask permission to remove Template:Technical data by themselves or do users with certain rights remove the template by themselves? Derekblue1 (talk) 01:52, April 20, 2020 (EDT)
- As long as the required information is provided, any user can remove the template. If you add in the necessary information and nothing is missing, feel free to remove the tag. Disaster Flare (talk) 01:53, April 20, 2020 (EDT)
- Alright, thank you for the answer. Have a great day, Disaster Flare! Derekblue1 (talk) 02:59, April 20, 2020 (EDT)
New infobox template
Hello, I noticed sponsor articles does not have an infobox, so I decided to draft one: Template:Infobox Team. I was wondering if you would like to check my draft, and I'm happy if you decide to improve the template if necessary. Derekblue1 (talk) 23:42, April 21, 2020 (EDT)
- Hmmm....looks fine to me, but I'd get a second opinion from another admin, personally. Disaster Flare (talk) 02:20, April 22, 2020 (EDT)
- Alright, I will go ahead. Thank you. Derekblue1 (talk) 07:07, April 22, 2020 (EDT)
Question About Character Pages
I really wasn’t sure where to ask this, so apologies if this wasn’t the best place to ask something like this.
How would you feel about removing sections on character pages that say things like this?:
“Possibly as a result of being ranked #_ out of #_ in __, (insert character here) has been buffed/nerfed in the transition to __.”
As far as I’m aware, it’s never been outright proven that the devs buff/nerf every character solely because of how good or bad they were in the previous game.
Also, unless I’m mistaken, wouldn’t statements like that technically fall under speculation as well?
Again, sorry if this wasn’t the best place to ask this. Just decided I should maybe get an admin’s opinion on it first. Gizmo (talk) 19:21, April 22, 2020 (EDT)
- Not Flare but I agree with you on this one. It does fall under speculation because not only has it never been confirmed that they use tier placements to decide who to buff or nerf (as you said), there is no evidence that they do either. If they actually did use tier lists as the basis, then characters who were low tier in SSB4 like Kirby and Bowser Jr would have been more signifficantly buffed, and high tiers like Ness and (especially) Pikachu would have been nerfed instead of buffed as they are now. OmegαToαd64 • the Best Kαrter 19:32, April 22, 2020 (EDT)
- I would agree that it seems to fall under speculation too, but that may be something that needs a proper vote on. Disaster Flare (talk) 20:20, April 22, 2020 (EDT)

- I don't believe random claims on a website if it doesn't provide any backup to that claim, especially when it's a site that anyone can edit. Disaster Flare (talk) 21:23, April 23, 2020 (EDT)
- Testing over 100 random name generations in Melee didn't yield that even once, so I'm going to say it isn't one. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Gamer (talk) 21:32, April 23, 2020 (EDT)
Creating throw pages for Brawl characters
Hello, Disaster Flare. On Mario's page, I discovered that all of his throws were deleted due to no effort being but making them. I was wondering if it's okay with you that I recreate those pages and add in all information regarding the throw. Super64 (talk) 15:57, April 24, 2020 (EDT)
- Yes, that's fine, as long as relevant and worthwhile information is included before you save it. It was deleted last time because all that was there were blank sections. Disaster Flare (talk) 15:59, April 24, 2020 (EDT)
- Cool. Additionally, would it be okay with you if I updated the Brawl throw template along with adding grab hitboxes? Super64 (talk) 16:34, April 24, 2020 (EDT)
- I'd check with Toomai on updating the Brawl templates, since I believe he's the one that usually tweaks it. Disaster Flare (talk) 16:39, April 24, 2020 (EDT)
- Cool. Additionally, would it be okay with you if I updated the Brawl throw template along with adding grab hitboxes? Super64 (talk) 16:34, April 24, 2020 (EDT)
Success
- Thank you, OmegaToad, I hope to continue working with you from here on! Disaster Flare (talk) 23:59, April 24, 2020 (EDT)
CONGRATULATIONS!!
I just read the news - congratulations on succesfully becoming a bureaucrat for the wiki! It honestly felt like yesterday that you were promoted to an admin, and now you're more than one. Hope to see a lot of good stuff from you! --Beep (talk) 23:58, April 24, 2020 (EDT)

I have been trying to set up a signature for hours and I need help for copying a picture to use for a signature? BTW, thanks for accepting my friend request. S3AHAWK (talk) 17:29, April 25, 2020 (EDT)
- SW:SIG has all the deets you need to know about signature customization. Disaster Flare (talk) 17:47, April 25, 2020 (EDT)
Template:PGR
May I request this page for deletion? (Sorry about the hitbox pages, I deeply, deeply, apologize!) SonDaniel (talk page) 01:36, April 28, 2020 (EDT)
- I'm holding off on that one until the GlobalPR debate is resolved, since PGR has a bit to do with that. Disaster Flare (talk) 01:40, April 28, 2020 (EDT)
How can I make a draft?
Hi, I am wondering who is allowed to make a draft? Is it anyone or just admins and your rank that I can't spell is allowed? Thanks! S3AHAWK (Talk) 01:39, April 28, 2020 (EDT)
- Anyone can make a draft, just know that your drafts can be prone to plagiarism if you do publicly post one. It's not a huge risk by any means, but the risk is there. Disaster Flare (talk) 01:41, April 28, 2020 (EDT)

My Edits.
Hi Disaster Flare, I read your probation warning and I am curious about how I am doing. Do I still need to do work or no.S3AHAWK (Talk) 15:56, April 28, 2020 (EDT)
- Right now your edit count for the mainspace and userspace is still kinda tied. To be a bit more clear, userspace editing is still okay in a probation warning, just be mindful about how often you're editing it. Disaster Flare (talk) 03:02, May 3, 2020 (EDT)

Hi D. Flare (no offense), I was wondering if I could add this picture to the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller gallery. I asked you because you uploaded the image. Thanks S3AHAWK (talk) 01:02, May 6, 2020 (EDT)
- You don't really need to ask for permission. If you think it should be added, add it (I do agree tho, it should be added). Disaster Flare (talk) 01:03, May 6, 2020 (EDT)
Excuse me
Hi! I’ve heard you deleted a page regarding another user. Maybe you want to talk to that guy for what it’s about? Maybe he kept for good reason (or maybe, I’m just thinking too much)? SonDaniel (talk page) 12:50, May 14, 2020 (EDT)
- If you're referring to Alex the weeb's thing, he had put a deletion template on it. Disaster Flare (talk) 16:53, May 14, 2020 (EDT)
Where are the hitboxes for Project M?
How come we don’t list hitboxes for PM? Does anybody still play it competitively? SonDaniel (talk page) 13:36, May 17, 2020 (EDT)
- I wouldn't know the answer to why, but my guess is it's because we represent PM very minimally compared to other Smash games due to its fangame status. Disaster Flare (talk) 13:38, May 17, 2020 (EDT)
Question
Hi so for a while now I have been deciding on whether I should try to run for adminship, so I was wondering if you think I'm ready and it's a good time to go for it, or if it's best to wait a bit longer. Right now I believe I have managed to meet the qualification in a good canidate such as policy enforcement, which I have been doing for a long time, and one I wasn't confidant about before but now am, being conflict moderation. The only thing that I feel might potentially hinder my RFA is because we already have 4 active admins (which in my opinion though I don't think the number of admins should be a good reason to oppose, especially if the candidate is shown to be a good one).
I was planning to give it a go at the beginning of next month, so from your experience with me and if you have time to glance at my contributions, my question is if you think I should give it a go or hold off on it for a little while longer.
(I do understand that something like this should be discussed in the discord server but I'm unable to download it and I don't really have plans to join, so this is the only place I can ask.) OmegαToαd64 • the Best Kαrter 07:47, May 23, 2020 (EDT)
- If you think you're ready, go for it. Disaster Flare (talk) 13:38, May 23, 2020 (EDT)
- Thanks, I believe I am ready though I'll still do it in early June just in case there are any more disbutes that I may be able to use as an example. Since disbute handling is considered the most important and hardest part of adminship I want to make sure I can show I am capable of it. OmegαToαd64 • the Best Kαrter 00:26, May 24, 2020 (EDT)
One question
I was reading the block log (for some reason) and I saw the block parameters and it said "email disabled" for some people. I am curious as if you cant contact the smash wiki email or your entire email is disabled. Thanks. S3AHAWK (talk) 00:07, May 24, 2020 (EDT)
- I've never personally used it, but to my knowledge how it works is it prevents a user from using that email to create other accounts. Might be wrong tho. Disaster Flare (talk) 00:13, May 24, 2020 (EDT)
- Thanks, I personally know Account creation disabled, and cannot edit own talk page. S3AHAWK (talk) 00:16, May 24, 2020 (EDT)

This rumor inverse said about an anonymous 4chan user...
...claims that Spring Man is the ARMS character. His reveal trailer seems to take place after Incineroar’s. Is this worthy of being on the list of rumors (note that I already asked this on the page’s discussion...and didn’t get an answer)? SonDaniel (talk page) 01:20, May 24, 2020 (EDT)
- We usually don't add rumors (especially 4chan text rumors) unless it gets a ton of traction, which, as far as I've seen, it hasn't. Disaster Flare (talk) 01:22, May 24, 2020 (EDT)
Are these two account socks?
Hi Flare, I'm not OmegaToad64 but I want to confirm if 190.245.168.245 is a sock of Galarto. OmegaToad reported him and thinks its a false alarm, can you check on the admin noticeboard to see if its a false alarm. thanks S3AHAWK (talk) 17:13, May 24, 2020 (EDT)
Hitbox gifs for Donkey Kong
Yo! What you’re doing is great! Where are you getting those gifs? SonDaniel (talk page) 21:33, May 26, 2020 (EDT)

Apology
I’m sorry for spamming the SmashWiki before. I’ll get an account here and on the Mario, Kirby, and Bulbapedia wikis next year. I’ll make my own sandbox of mentioned only SSB characters and Custom spirit battles. 174.55.24.64 22:50, June 1, 2020 (EDT)
- Not Disaster Flare: Look, you’ve apologized once. If you keep doing that, it’ll be to the point your apologies won’t be effective at all! Actions speak louder than words. SonDaniel (talk page) 22:58, June 1, 2020 (EDT)
- If you really want to make your own pages, why wait until next year? I haven't made one because I straight up don't want to make pages, but I can't see what's stopping you besides work or school, and even then, almost everything is still closed thanks to the virus. 72.219.72.215 02:09, June 2, 2020 (EDT)
Who can close proposals
Hi Disaster Flare, I am wondering about proposal closing on the recent proposal made about partial blocks. I am wondering the fact about who can close the proposal because the partial block proposal is in MediaWiki 1.35. Can all admin classes close this or anyone can close this because in one proposal pre-request OmegaToad closed a proposal. Thanks, S3AHAWK said ketchup won 17:29, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- I think I know which proposal you're talking about (this one?), and Aidanzapunk closed it, not OmegaToad64. 72.219.72.215 18:40, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- No, he meant this one, which was closed by OmegaToad (though officially closed by Serpent King). Aidan, the Rurouni 18:52, June 6, 2020 (EDT)

- Looking through past proposals I found two proposals that were closed by non admins, though for some I might have been mistaking proposals what we're withdrawn by non admins though still officially closed by admins. Though it seems soon I will have the powah to close proposals. OmegαToαd64 19:36, June 6, 2020 (EDT)
- Both of those proposals were mine and I'm the one who closed/withdrew them both. The latter I withdrew because it quickly derailed, went silent, and after getting more accustomed to the wiki I figured the proposed edits didn't warrant community consensus. The former was withdrawn as a reaction to what happened a few days ago with Template:SSB4 to SSBU changelist and it's server impact, which I feared could easily happen if my proposal went through. I assumed I could withdraw as I saw it happen before. I apologize if that is something I wasn't allowed to do. --CanvasK (talk) 19:57, June 6, 2020 (EDT)

New Page Idea
Hi Flare, I am curious about a new page idea, this should be a subpage on my userpage because I don't want to hack my copy of smash ultimate but I am curious if I can create a character model page for the games in smash bros. These pages will take a long time and there will be some missing models. I will put pictures of the front of the models. Thanks.S3AHAWK said ketchup won 02:59, June 7, 2020 (EDT)

- Eeeeeeeeeh I'm not sure about that...we're not meant to be the go-to source for everything, we're just an informational wiki. If there was some informative merit to it (like how some models have hidden easter eggs, but those are already covered elsewhere), there's not much reason for us to really need such a lengthy article that doesn't add much not already covered elsewhere. Defealt/Trunks VS Colony 9/Ecro Style - Shulk (SSBU)
I currently have a conflict with few users on Shulk (SSBU) page. If you see page history you know what I mean. And I have a question - are there any naming policies about how to name costumes? 46.229.158.109 14:22, June 9, 2020 (EDT)

Why did you demote OmegaToad? I checked the discord (im a user there btw) and I did not see anything bad about OmegaToad (according to your summary). 06:03, June 21, 2020 (EDT)

I don't know exactly what happened, but unless OmegaToad threatened to either murder somebody (which I find unlikely) or abuse their admin powers (which would legitimately be pretty bad), being demoted within a week, as well as whatever scathing comments were directed towards them, feel a little too harsh. Even if OmegaToad proved themselves to be an awful person by some offensive comments, personal matters are separate from the wiki's, and in terms of wiki matters, OmegaToad has been fantastic, and has not wrongly blocked anyone/deleted something/ended disputes during their short tenure as far as I looked. 72.219.72.215 04:30, June 24, 2020 (EDT)

- I only have screenshots to go off of, but from what I've seen, OmegaToad's demotion makes sense. Even if we ignore the moral and social issues surrounding the comments he made, the Smash community, and indeed the gaming community in general, has a significant number of trans people in it, and given that this is the community the Wiki is supposed to serve, having transphobic admins on the site is definitely a problem. Add to that the fact that there are multiple trans editors on the Wiki, who the admins have power over, and the situation becomes even worse. Given the circumstances, I think OmegaToad's demotion is definitely justified. That's my take on the issue. Alex the Weeb 06:05, June 24, 2020 (EDT)
- @IP and Black Vulpine: This subject was heavily discussed within the Discord server between staff and all contributors who participated, and the consensus was that the community is too uncomfortable having OmegaToad be an admin after the comments that were made, even more so after additional comments were made that caused him to be banned from the server. The demotion sticks. Disaster Flare (talk) 12:21, June 24, 2020 (EDT)

So, last month, I made a draft that solely focuses on fixing the Chronicle page due to how extremely unpolished it was.
Now that I have completed it and put the entire draft on the main page, I have no need for it anymore and want it deleted, but one concern I have is that the draft is still linked on some talk pages (such as the ones on the main Chronicle article itself and WarioFan63's talk page).
