Trivia
- Eight and the female Pokémon Trainer are the only playable characters originating from the 2000s not present in the event, due to them being an alternate costume for the Luminary and the male Pokémon Trainer.
- The Koopalings and Alph, however, can be selected as alternate costumes for Bowser Jr. and Olimar, which would break the theme as they debuted in the 1980s and 2010s respectively.
- Living Room is the only stage from a 2000s game not present in the event. Although it is specifically based off of Nintendogs + Cats, released in 2011, the general concept first appeared in the original Nintendogs, released in 2005.
- Oddly, even though Battlefield can be played on in the event, Final Destination cannot, despite both (Battlefield and Final Destinations in general, not the specific versions) debuting in Super Smash Bros. Melee, which released in 2001.
