In the beginning, I didn't play Bowser. I was against the idea of heavies myself, and wanted to stick with lighter characters with more tactical strategies and disjointed hitboxes. After a while, I started focusing on having a little fun instead of being all-competitive. So, I started trying out characters that I didn't necessarily prefer playing over my mains, but they were fun to play because of their large damage output moves. The heavy that stood out to me was Bowser, since he was significantly faster than all of the other heavyweights, had extremely generous hitboxes, and a better than average out-of-shield option. I just found him really fun to play compared to the others and he suddenly climbed up the ranks of somehow unironically being one of my best characters. You'd think I'd do worse with a combo food character over a lightweight, but here we are. | In the beginning, I didn't play Bowser. About me!
Username Origin
My username/gamertag originated from some of my most favorite games, Final Fantasy VII and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. "凶" comes from the symbol made when Cloud uses Cross Slash, his first Limit Break. It can mean evil
or wicked
. "滅" is the symbol that appears above Akuma when he taunts. It means destruction
. My former gamertag used to be Monokuro, meaning monochrome
.
Video Games
Growing up, the only console I was allowed was the Wii. If I remember correctly, it came with MarioKart, and later on I got some other games, including Mario Sports Mix, Super Smash Bros Brawl, and Twilight Princess. Since the Wii was the only console I had in my childhood, I never got to experience the masterpieces
of games that others with different consoles had. Some examples are Earthbound and The Legend of Zelda on the Nintendo Entertainment System, Ocarina of Time and Banjo-Kazooie on the Nintendo 64, and Super Mario Sunshine on the Nintendo Gamecube.
Some others are Chrono Trigger and some of the Final Fantasy games on the PSX, although I now get the opportunity to play through Final Fantasy VII on an emulator. It has now become one of my favorite games, judging by the amazing soundtrack, engaging combat, and interesting story.
I'm also a fan of Street Fighter. Although I may not be good at it, it's still fun knowing I can pull off some inputs and pressure opponents. Every once in a while I can outplay somebody on Fightcade's netplay on Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. I mostly play Ken and Ryu because those are the two I am the most accustomed and used to.
Hobbies
In my free time, I play video games. Ones that come to mind are Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Final Fantasy VII, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike.
I also like to read. Some of my favorite books/book series are Harry Potter, Caster, and Robin's Elwind, Arcfire, and Thunder tomes. If I'm really feeling myself, I'll read my opponent. Mostly it'll just be a jab or forward tilt attack, since I'm not a fan of leaving myself wide open. Only when I'm sure I have the download on my opponent will I forward smash.
