Congo Jungle is a stage appearing in Super Smash Bros. and as a past stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Congo Jungle is Donkey Kong's home stage in SSB. This stage is based on the Donkey Kong Country games.
This stage has five platforms. One main platform that has a large slanted indent and that can be passed through from below. Two stationary platforms at the top left and right corners that are slanted and two flat moving platforms in the center that move around each other in a square. The two slants on the main platform can be perfect for making angled shots with the Super Scope.
A swiveling Barrel Cannon lies beneath the stage that can save the players life if fell into. However if the player waits too long inside the cannon, it will start spinning, allowing the player to change their aim or accidentally blast out of bounds.
Apperance in Melee
Congo Jungle was properly renamed Past Stages: Kongo Jungle in Melee since Congo is a real country while Kongs live in Kongo. Beating 15-Minute Melee will allow you access to this stage in Vs. mode.
