Event Match 4: Dino-wrangling is the fourth event of the 51 Event Matches in the Event Mode of Super Smash Bros. Melee. In it, you are pitted against a Giant Yoshi. All you have to do is simply kill Yoshi. Since Yoshi is big, it will take a lot of damage to kill him. Giant characters have a disadvantage though. He is a big target, easy to hit, has reduced jumping distance, and falls faster. Use smash attacks and items to knock Yoshi off the stage. Often times when you fight near the edge, Yoshi will kill himself while trying to attack you.

Event Match 4: Dino-Wrangling is the fourth of the 51 Event Matches in the Event mode of Super Smash Bros. Melee. It is a non-timed stock match between your character and one single, gigantic Yoshi in the Yoshi's Island: Yoshi's Story stage, with you having three lives to KO giant Yoshi's one life.

This is one of three event matches that take place on the Yoshi's Story stage; the others are Event 10: All-Star Match 1 (the third of the five battles) and Event 35: Time for a Checkup.

Layout

After selecting Event 4 from the Event mode menu and selecting your character, the match begins with you playing against a super-sized Yoshi on the Yoshi's Story stage. Your character has 3 stock and Yoshi has one stock. The object of the match is to KO Yoshi in no particular time limit.

This event match is notable because you have multiple chances to KO what should be a far stronger and harder-to-KO opponent than yourself. The increased size of Yoshi is a double-edged sword to him, however; while giant opponents in general pack more punch and take more damage, Yoshi will be made extremely easy to hit with many types of attacks, and due to both the increased dimensions of Yoshi and his movements, his erratic AI, and the small size of the stage, he may occasionally jump/slide right out of the arena to his doom.

Strategies

Perhaps the easiest way to defeat giant Yoshi, as with any large character, is to send in Jigglypuff and use its Rest B-Down move to send Yoshi flying out of the arena in a very short amount of time. You can get records of less than 00.52 of a second this way. It is mainly because of this that this is considered a very easy Event Match.
