Banjo-Kazooie (バンジョー&カズーイ, Banjo & Kazooie) are playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They were announced during the E3 Nintendo Direct on June 11th, 2019 as the fourth DLC character and are the third downloadable character for the Fighters Pass. Banjo-Kazooie are classified as Fighter #73.
Attributes
- Their design is based on their original, more rounded appearance from their Nintendo 64 titles, but now with detailed fur, feathers, and larger eyes.
- They use various attacks from their original games, such as the Talon Trot, Egg Shot, Egg Lay (including normal eggs and grenade eggs), and Breegull Bash as one of their smash attacks.
- Their Final Smash is the Jinjonator.
- Banjo's voices from Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie are intact and may be ripped directly from the Nintendo 64 titles.

Trivia
- Their reveal trailer is similar to King K. Rool's trailer, where King Dedede uses a costume to fake out the Kongs, only to be attacked by the real King K. Rool. In this case, while K. Rool was with the Kongs, Duck Hunt use a costume to fake them out, only for them to get attacked by the real Banjo and Kazooie.
- Their reveal trailer also references the ending of their original game, with them summoning the Jinjonator to send K. Rool crashing into the ground to be buried by a large boulder, in the same way they did to Gruntilda.
- Their introduction tagline is a reference to Rare, the company from which their video game series originated.
- Not counting a costume in Minecraft, their inclusion in Ultimate marks the first time they appeared on a Nintendo console since Banjo-Pilot, which came out in 2005.
- Due to the fact that Rare was once owned by Nintendo, Banjo-Kazooie have the unique distinction of being the only third-party character in the game to have formerly been a first-party Nintendo character.
