In Super Smash Bros. 4, since Dark Pit is a clone of Pit they are both exactly identical in their physics, hitboxes/hurtboxes, and all their frame data bar a few moves, most of the time when referring to something about one of the Pits, it equally applies to the other and thus it's simpler to refer to them both together simultaneously. This also often results in both characters being listed together in one spot on tier lists and matchups.

In Ultimate, Dark Pit is considered an Echo Fighter of Pit.
