::Was playing as Villager on Smashville, pocketed a crate, then remembered this, I made another (was in training mode messing with Pocket) and backed up and found that you could pocket it from unusually long distances. I'm not exactly sure how to describe the distance, but it was very definitely longer than normal. I did nothing special to trigger it, just stood a distance behind any container type item (works with Blast Box too) and used Pocket. Anything else worth knowing? Well, I'm not 100% about this, but I don't think any of the crates or barrels I pocketed using Magnetic Pocket contained anything. Hope this helps. While whatever item that is pocket is displayed (barring Food), I noticed that pocketed projectiles are instead displayed as icons. What's more fascinating is how the icons depend on what kind of projectile it was. For example, fiery projectiles (such as Fireball) are displayed as a flame, water projectiles (such as Water Gun) are displayed as a blue swirl, electric projectiles are displayed as a lightning bolt, projectiles with the slash effect (such as Razor Leaf) are displayed as a crescent, explosive projectiles (such as Samus' Bomb) are displayed as a black bomb, ice projectiles (such as Ice Shot) are displayed as an icicle, projectiles that are either physical (such as Shot Put) or without special hitboxes (such as Fox's Blaster, and the projectiles from Autoreticle) are displayed as a yellow jagged action bubble (the kind they use to denote punching in comic books), and character-produced edibles (such as Pac-Man's Power Pellet) are shown as an apple (the same as basic Food items).
Two moves are unique in that they have their own icons: Rush Coil is shown as a bug-bitten leaf (much like the signature logo for the Animal Crossing series), and Poison Breath is shown as 3 purple bubbles of varying sizes.
Some projectiles have unlikely icons, too. For example, Richter's Holy Water flask is shown as a flame, even though the pillar deals Aura damage, yet Lucario's Aura Sphere shows as the yellow jagged action bubble. Also, Mega Man's up aerial is shown as the blue swirl even though it isn't a water move. I am going to continue testing to see what else I can discover. - "special moves that can only create limited numbers of objects can be rendered ineffective if they get pocketed, such as R.O.B.'s Gyro, Wii Fit Trainer's Header, Pac-Man's Bonus Fruit, and Bowser Jr.'s Mechakoopas."
Are we sure about this? My experience with Pac-Man anyway is that the item is rendered unavailable only if it is on-screen. It seems to be accessible to me as soon as it's off-screen in the Villager's pocket. Miles (talk) 21:37, 29 November 2014 (EST)
- I could've sworn Bonus Fruit was affected by Pocket...I know for a fact that both Header and Mechakoopas are impaired, but if you know better than I, then go ahead and remove it.
Magnetic Pocket glitch; Pocket items from long distances
I was checking out my old miiverse comments & found a couple of things of interest.

This was before Mewtwo was available. I've no idea how or why it happened, or if it's still possible. Unowninator (talk) 22:17, 28 December 2015 (EST)
Should it be mentioned that Magnetic Pocket glitch needs more research?
I mean, there's a lot I don't know about, such as:
- whether this still happens after Mewtwo's release (1.0.6)
- if it happens in the 3DS
- if it happens with smaller items (every time it happened so far was with a Crate, Barrel, or Blast Box)
- if it only happens in Slow-mode (which just occurred to me that was in effect each time it activated)
- what triggers it
So yeah, there's a lot more to the mystery. Should we mention it somehow? Unowninator (talk) 20:17, 24 February 2016 (EST)
Magnetic Pocket still works
Just tested, and any container type item (crate, barrel, rolling crate, capsule party ball) can be used for this, most recent version, for Wii U. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.133.91.93 (talk • contribs) August 18, 2018

Projectile Icons
