Joker (ジョーカー, Joker) is a future playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He was announced at The Game Awards 2018 on December 6th, 2018 as the first playable character for the Fighters Pass DLC. Joker is classified as fighter #71.

Xander Mobus, who voices Joker in Persona 5 and the announcer in Ultimate, reprises his role as the character in the English version of the game.

Trivia

• Joker is the first selectable character in the series to share their voice actor with the announcer in the English version of the game, barring Master Hand's playable appearances, as Master Hand is not a normally selectable character outside of these circumstances.
• Alongside Piranha Plant, Joker does not appear on the panoramic artwork showcasing the fighters of Ultimate at the time of his announcement.
• Joker is one of two original newcomers to Ultimate to not have a special tagline, the other being Inkling.
• Excluding Corrin, who uses redubbed cutscenes from Fire Emblem Fates, Joker is the first DLC character in Smash history to have an animated trailer.
• Joker's reveal trailer has two versions: the one that was played during The Game Awards 2018 and the one that was officially posted online afterwards. The latter removes dialogue references to him going to The Game Awards.
