Palutena's Guidance?

Should we rename it to this, since I'm pretty sure Palutena and Dark Pit can also activate it? Or at least Kid Icarus Smash Taunt? ---Previously unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 22:09, 23 October 2014 (EDT)

I don't believe it was ever stated that the others could activate it, only Pit. PikaSamus (talk) PikaSamus 22:10, 23 October 2014 (EDT)
I think I saw a clip with just Palutena onscreen during one of the conversations. Either way, since it has an official name, which will probably be used more than "Pit's Smash Taunt", I think it's more logical to use the name. ---Previously unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 13:35, 24 October 2014 (EDT)
Only Pit, as far as we know. Went back and the announcer says, "All you have to do is select Pit and execute his downward taunt." The one you're referring to has Pit and Palutena on the same stage. She says something along the lines of "Think of it as a coliseum show and less of ... a massacre." or something (She's still talking to Pit, so it could just be their conversation). Also, all of the clips show Pit in the stage, and the actual dialogue is directed at Pit, giving him tips and pointers. As for the name, it can be redirected. Roarmoocowz (talk) 13:49, 24 October 2014 (EDT)
But why would we use an unofficial name when there's an official name that is much simpler and will probably be used more often? ---Previously unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 13:54, 24 October 2014 (EDT)

Rename

Why don't we move this page to Palutena's Guidence? It's the official name, and it's the most often used, to my knowledge. Rtzxy Reflect.jpg Reflect!!! 15:18, 7 November 2014 (EST)

...i already made a section for this but oh well
I support the move. Also, we should move Snake's Smash Taunt to Codec Conversations ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 15:19, 7 November 2014 (EST)
I realize that that section exists, but I started a new one anyways. I wouldn't mind moving Snake's Smash Taunt to Coded Conversations, either. Rtzxy Reflect.jpg Reflect!!! 15:29, 7 November 2014 (EST)

Oppose. If we rename it/them, it/they will become inconsistent with the Star Fox Smash Taunt. PikaSamus (talk) PikaSamus 16:26, 7 November 2014 (EST)

Is consistency really a problem here? If we rename two out of three, then each one would be unique, and thus not needing to worry about consistency, as all three would be uniquely named. Rtzxy Reflect.jpg Reflect!!! 16:28, 7 November 2014 (EST)
Or, y'know, we could change the Star Fox Smash Taunt to another unofficial name that could match. Like Star Fox Team Conversations or something... although Rtzxy's idea is probably better :P ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe Nutta. 16:31, 7 November 2014 (EST)

Actually, Star Fox Smash Taunt is (almost) official, so it could work. I believe the DOJO!! called it "Star Fox (Team) Smash Taunt". Weak support. PikaSamus (talk) PikaSamus 17:01, 7 November 2014 (EST)

Support Seems to work better than the current name we have. Being an official name helps somewhat. Berrenta (talk) 23:50, 7 November 2014 (EST)

Support - Isn't that the official name? Blue Ninjakoopa 13:10, 8 November 2014 (EST)

Anyone else? Also, what are your thoughts on moving Snake's Smash Taunt to "Codec"; if this page gets moved, then we should move that page for consistency reasons (and for the fact that it's the most used name). Rtzxy Reflect.jpg Reflect!!! 00:15, 9 November 2014 (EST)

--ComJacker (talk) 17:25, 8 November 2014 (EST)

Reword maybe?

"Viridi: "Motion control... That's downright REVOLUTIONARY! We should patent that."

Note: Viridi could be mentioning either when Philips sued Nintendo for it's motion control Wii Remotes, or the Wii's codename was 'Revolution'."

I feel the italiced phrase could be reworded a little; I don't see a connection between either situations, except maybe the last one, but only to an extent, and something along the lines of "Viridi mentions the Wii Remote, which was revolutionary at the time of its release" might work better. Hell, I'm not even sure if it even should be on the page whatsoever. Thoughts? Rtzxy Reflect.jpg Reflect!!! 19:11, 8 November 2014 (EST)

Julie Parker Not Credited In The Wii U version?

I saw Julie Parker's name in 3DS credits, but I actually saw the Wii U credits, and that name isn't included in the Voice Cast list.

What is the difference between Palutena's Guidance and the Codec Conversations/Star Fox Smash Taunts?

The answer is very little, if nothing at all. If you check the Codec Conversations page, you'll see that the way the scripts are written in a professional looking way. Some of the text, whilst clearly going into seperate text boxes, is merged together until another character starts speaking. What I don't understand is why everyone is so desperate to have the Palutena's Guidance script, which as I said earlier is pretty much the exact same thing by seperate text boxes? Not only does it look messy and unprofessional, but it is incosistent with how the Codec Conversations, and indeed the SF Taunts, are set-up. If those two don't merge text boxes, neither should this one. 85.210.188.121 09:07, 26 November 2014 (EST)

To be honest, I see no reason to separate text boxes between a single character. It's a consistency issue, and while there are a lot of consistency issues between the three Smash Taunt pages, they can easily be fixed. So, I actually like the IP's version better—but you still gotta follow SW:1RV, no matter what I say. Rtzxy Reflect.jpg Reflect! 09:39, 26 November 2014 (EST)

If we convert to a table format, we'll be able to have one row per character while also being able to split lines in the same way the game does. But it'd be more complex overall. Good or bad idea? Toomai Glittershine ??? The Trumpeteer 09:43, 26 November 2014 (EST)

I'm not sure. Can you give us an example of what it might look like? Rtzxy Reflect.jpg Reflect! 09:50, 26 November 2014 (EST)
I was wondering that myself. I was meerly thinking just doing like like the Codecs. 85.210.188.121 10:04, 26 November 2014 (EST)

Okay, example.

Viridi Oh, wow! It's Charizard! Just look at those majestic wings!
Pit Those wings might be majestic to look at, but they don't help much in the flying or gliding department.
Palutena A little short in the flight department? That sounds like a familiar predicament.
Pit I have no idea what you're talking about.
Viridi Oh, Pit, denial doesn't look good on you.
At least Charizard can use its wings for attacking.
Pit And I can use my wings to fly! ...When Lady Palutena grants me the power of flight, that is.
Palutena You know, I've always wondered if the power of flight would work anywhere besides your wings. Like your hair, for instance.
Pit That's not funny!
I'd go bald!
Palutena But I digress. Charizard has another attack, called Flare Blitz. It's powerful but dangerous, even to Charizard.
Either way, dodge the attack and keep your distance while waiting for your chance to strike back.

Toomai Glittershine ??? The Loony 22:57, 29 November 2014 (EST)

That could work. Rtzxy Reflect.jpg Reflect! 23:32, 29 November 2014 (EST)

Duck Hunt Duo

He has his own Guidance, I don't remember exactly what it is but Palutena says something like "Although we call them the Duck Hunt Duo, in a way their also a trio"

Unused Guidance

A user on GameFAQs found an unused conversation while browsing the sound data. That user has provided a source in their post. The post would later be noted in this GameXplain video. How should we add this? Berrenta (talk) 10:16, 15 December 2014 (EST)

I believe it already is added... AidanzapunkSig.jpgBlueStreak Speeds By 10:20, 15 December 2014 (EST)

Bayonetta's Trailer featuring Palutena's Guidance

During the reveal trailer for Bayonetta it is shown Palutena giving Pit a Guidance conversation, similar to the ones done in the stage. Would it be worth listing and quoting the conversation here on this page like the others?
Ixbran (talk) 00:14, 1 January 2016 (EST)

Probably not. AidanzapunkChristmasSig.pngAidan, the Jolly Space WarriorAidanzapunkChristmasSig2.png 00:16, 1 January 2016 (EST)
You think it would be worth noting in the form of a Trivia section?
Ixbran (talk) 00:24, 1 January 2016 (EST)
Sure; we do something similar for Snake's reveal trailer on his Smash Taunt page. It may be worth waiting, however, until Bayonetta comes out so we can accurately describe the situation. Miles (talk) 12:14, 1 January 2016 (EST)

Just a thought...

Do you think we could set up a template kind of like Inkipedia's template for Callie & Marie's conversations for this? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 16:54, 8 January 2016 (EST)

I just had a look at the template in question. For this page's case, maybe a two-column one could work, with the left column holding character names/other identifiers. Berrenta (talk) 23:52, 7 February 2016 (EST)

"No point in having two characters that are pretty much carbon copies" Olimar & Alph, plus Bowser Jr.

Would this contradiction be good trivia?Unowninator (talk) 21:13, 23 January 2016 (EST)

Considering that clones are a thing, and that a 100% clone of Marth got in over Chrom who would've been slightly similar to Ike? No, not really. Too obvious. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 21:14, 23 January 2016 (EST)

Yeah, that's what I thought. Okay, thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Unowninator (talkcontribs) 02:15, January 23, 2016 (EST)

Japanese Guidances

They're right here, and some of them are different from the English version (Dedede, Pac-Man, and such). Would it be worth pointing out the differences? Laniv (talk) 11:17, 4 February 2016 (EST)

I mean, we probably should, but idk how we would without cluttering the page. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 11:18, 4 February 2016 (EST)
The Codec Conversations page does something similar. AidanzapunkSig1.pngAidan, the Wandering Space WarriorAidanzapunkSig2.png 11:33, 4 February 2016 (EST)

Where did the new Guidances come from? (Incineroar, Snake, Young Link)

On youtube I found Simon, Isabelle, K. Rool and Ridley, but not Incineroar, Snake & Young Link. Where are theirs confirmed? Are they from the datamine? ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 19:00, 25 November 2018 (EST)

The editor claims to have access to datamined text files, so most likely. — NokiiSig.png Nokii (T·C·L) 19:03, 25 November 2018 (EST)
Yes, and in addition, there was a Twitch stream that showed Incineroar's, so I linked to a clip of it in the edit summary. Awesomelink234, the Super Cool Sonic Fan Leave a message if needed 19:05, 25 November 2018 (EST)
Well, if they're datamined, shouldn't they be removed? (I don't want to read them without hearing the audio first, so I'm not removing them myself.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Unowninator (talkcontribs) 19:22, 25 November 2018 (EST)
The text falls under "text information", which the wiki allows. — NokiiSig.png Nokii (T·C·L) 19:30, 25 November 2018 (EST)
And yet, most of them seem the be complete bunk added by IPs with no evidence to support them. I mean, separate conversations for Pokemon Trainer and each of his Pokemon? How would that even work? IMO, we shouldn't add any unless there's a video to accompany them to verify its legitimacy. After all, anyone can write something and claim it's from a text rip; a video with VO is harder to fake. -- 68.32.218.140 17:08, 28 November 2018 (EST)

Don't delete the mountain of text we compiled next time.

There are videos everywhere. Don't assume that because the video isn't there that they "made it up". Ask for a citation so we don't have to undo 3 edits. --Phoenix (talk) 17:21, 28 November 2018 (EST)

If it's real, you can undo all three edits at once with the push of a button. It's not that big a deal. And given the game isn't even out yet and most of these are from an IP who has added nothing to the wiki BUT guidance conversations, I think a little skepticism is warranted. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 17:23, 28 November 2018 (EST)
