Lucas (リュカ, Lucas) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. He was confirmed as a playable character on June 12th, 2018.

Changes from Super Smash Bros. 4

Aesthetics

• Like other characters, Lucas always faces the screen regardless of which direction he turns. This affects his movesets as well (such as the end of his up-tilt animation), all of which appear to be mirrored.

Ground Attacks

• Lucas' fingers is now more prounounced in his down smash, where he bends his elbow after each shot.

Throws/other attacks

• Lucas is now angry on his standing grab animation.
  • Rope Snake now moves towards Lucas after he is done using him in the grab. The snake disappears without shrinking when he can interrupt the animation.

Special moves

• Lucas' back his more angled lowered in the end of his PSI-Magnet animation similar to his preparing to run animation in MOTHER 3.
• PK Fire now has its PSI graphics from Mother 3 when fired and upon hitting someone.
  • Similar to Ness, he leaves a red Spark on his hand until he Fires PK Fire. Similar to his Down-smash.
• PK Starstorm is now similar to its Brawl iteration, firing meteors inwards towards the center of the stage, but at a slower rate and with slower meteors. His animation no longer reuses Ness' Final Smash animation and instead is more similar to his animation in Brawl. Lucas is also assisted by Kumatora and Boney.
