GENESIS is an ongoing tournament series held annually in San Jose, California (previously in Antioch, California). The tournament, first held in 2009, is organized and directed by Boback and the DBR crew. It is currently widely regarded as the premier Smash tournament aside from EVO and the largest Smash-centered tournament in the world, after Apex's decline in popularity and the organization of GENESIS 3 five years after its previous installment.
