::::::::::I would like to point out that at no point did I defend their actions, nor did I comment on the validity of such an opinion. All I said was that I didn't think they had been treated fairly. It may be "a pointless post that goes against proper procedure of a talk page", but was it right that they be blocked for a day for saying that? The comment was in no way offensive, disruptive, part of a large-scale malicious attack, or in any other way deserving of a block. Rather, it was isolated and insignificant, and probably escaped the attention of everyone but you until you decided to act upon it.
