Sothe (サザ, Saza) is a character from the Fire Emblem series, particularly Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. His older appearance in the latter game is featured on a trophy and sticker in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

In the Fire Emblem games, he is classified as a thief/rogue/whisper, meaning he has particularly good luck and speed, and is also capable of picking locks and stealing items.  In Radiant Dawn, he is the strongest character in the group that is trying to free Daein.  In Path of Radiance, Sothe appears as an orphaned stowaway seeking a lost companion (who is revealed to be Micaiah in Radiant Dawn).  After the Mad King's War, Sothe returned to Daein's capital of Nevassa and found Micaiah.  Sothe is the only Beorc (human) character in Path of Radiance who can't promote, so he remains a thief for the entire game.  He's also the only character with the Blossom skill, which boosts his stat growths in exchange for needing more combat experience.

In Radiant Dawn Sothe is a very unique character in many ways. First, every chapter you control him up till the Final chapters of the game he is a game loss character without being a Lord.  This means that if he dies in any chapter except the final chapters, it's game over. Second his stats are directly transferred from a Path of Radiance save file if you used one to start your game file. Using the strongest stats between his default stats, and what you had for him at the end of Path of Radiance. The other characters just get a slight bonus if you managed to max out any stat in the previous game. Next he is the only character with a special ending with Micaiah (they get married, due to Sothe being protective over Micaiah, promising her often that when she is in danger, he will be there to protect her, and that promise builds into a brotherly/sisterly realtionship. This ending is easy to get considering he starts with an A Ranked support with her). He is one of four characters (three in the English version) with a specialized Promotion point in the game. Of those four characters two of them are the game's "Lords" Ike and Micaiah, making him and Mist, Ike's Sister, unique from the other regular units. Sothe promotes at the end of the Part 4 Prolouge, and Mist promotes using a Holy Crown (this is not needed in the English game as she can be leveled up to promote, but you're still given a Holy Crown anyway).

Sothe appears as a sticker and a trophy. To earn his trophy, either obtain it in Coin Launcher mode or pick it up as an item.

Additionally, although not visually confirmed, Sothe was rumored to appear as an Assist Trophy in a Japanese demo of the game.  Hacking the recently released game, however, has shown no such data.

A skilled swordsman, thief, and member of the Dawn Brigade, a band of freedom fighters operating out of the old Daein capital, Nevassa. Although not related to Micaiah, the light-magic-dealing leader of the Dawn Brigade, he was raised like a brother and considers her safety his top priority. He grows from boy to young man between "Path of Radiance" and "Radiant Dawn."
