The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Ricky Tilton (also known as Gideon) is the founder of Smash World, Smashboards, and this wiki. In March 2008, Gideon sold his websites. Since then Gideon has not been involved with the Smash community in any sort of capacity.
Smash World
Smash World was founded in June 1999, when Tilton was 13 years old. Since then, the site's forums, Smashboards has become the most prominent competitive Smash Bros. community, with over 100,000 registered users and 6 million posts. The site was mentioned in a Nintendo Power interview in the September 2005 issue.
Major League Gaming acquired Smashboards in 2008 for an undisclosed sum. The money earned through the sale of the website has helped Tilton pay for college and medical school.
Personal life
Tilton was born in Gap, Pennsylvania and graduated from Calvin College in 2008 with a degree in biology. He plays tennis competitively and was a member of Calvin's tennis team[1].
