Charizard is a Pokémon appearing in all three Smash Bros. games. In the original Pokémon game (Red, Blue, LeafGreen, FireRed), Charmander, which evolves into Charmeleon, which ultimately evolves into Charizard, is one of three choosable starter Pokémon (it is unavailable in the Yellow version). Charizard was also a prominent character in the early seasons of the Pokémon anime.
Super Smash Bros.
In the original game, Charizard can appear if the Poké Ball item is thrown. Charizard will come out of the Poké Ball and use Flamethrower, alternating to the left and right sides until it disappears.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
In this game Charizard returns in the Poké Ball item and uses Flamethrower again in the same manner.
Charizard also appears as a trophy in this game.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Charizard will appear as a character along with Ivysaur and Squirtle as Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon.
