In the Metroid series the Screw Attack was an upgrade Samus could add to her power suit that allowed her to have another jump, another attack and in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, an extremely long glide. It debuted as an item in Super Smash Bros. Melee. When holding it, the character's jumps were replaced with screw attacks. The player can also throw the item at others and if it touches them they do a screw attack and receive damage. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the Screw attack will stick to the character and the character will be able to use other items while under it's effect.
