User:Nyargleblargle/DraftAlert In every Super Smash Bros. game so far, Kirby has had the ability to copy any other characters' neutral special moves with his neutral special attack, Inhale. If another Kirby is swallowed, only damage is dealt, but Kirby can steal a Copy Ability off the enemy Kirby, if they had one. When Kirby copies one of his opponents, he will also bear a resemblance of that character in the form of a hat of some kind, which usually show a prominent part of the character copied, and often times mimics their voices/sounds. When performing copied attacks, Kirby will also use the same weapons and poses as their owners.
Kirby can choose to discard the ability at any time by using his taunt, though he may also lose it when taking damage.
Character | Super Smash Bros. | Melee | Brawl | SSB4 | Special move | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bowser | Fire Breath | Kirby can flame cancel in all versions of the Melee, while Bowser can only do so in NTSC 1.0 and 1.1. | ||||
Bowser Jr. | Clown Cannon | As Kirby does not obtain Bowser Jr's Clown Car, the cannon used for this move instead extends from his mouth. When inhaling and swallowing a Koopaling, Kirby will still keep Bowser Jr.'s hat. | ||||
Captain Falcon | File:Kirby cfalcon ssb.jpg | Falcon Punch | Amusingly imitates the famous "Falcon Punch!" shout. Allows Kirby to use Falcon Punch as a horizontal recovery move in the original game. In Smash 4, Kirby can use either hand while doing Falcon Punch, as opposed to Captain Falcon, who only uses his right hand. | |||
Charizard | Brawl Image | Smash 4 Image | Move | Description | ||
Dark Pit | Smash 4 Image | Move | Description | |||
Diddy Kong | Brawl Image | Smash 4 Image | Move | Description | ||
Donkey Kong | File:Super Smash Bros. (U) snap0085.jpg | Giant Punch | Allows Kirby to turn in the air easier because of charge cancels in the original game. Also sends Kirby into freefall in Melee. | |||
Dr. Mario | Melee Image | Smash 4 Image | Move | Description | ||
Duck Hunt | Smash 4 Image | Move | Description | |||
Fox | File:Kirby fox ssb.jpg | Blaster | Gives Kirby the ability to short hop double laser and even short hop triple laser, as a result of Kirby's floatiness. | |||

Jigglypuff | File:Kirby jigglypuff ssb.jpg | Pound | This Kirby hat is whatever colour Kirby is, instead of Jigglypuff pink. This is the only hat in this game to have such a property. It differs from Jigglypuff's Pound in that using this move toward a ledge sends Kirby off of the ledge, being notable for having much higher distance if Kirby leaves the ground at the end of the Pound animation (it is capable of traveling nearly the length of a Dream Land soft platform if spaced correctly). | |||
Rollout | This Kirby hat is whatever colour Kirby is, instead of Jigglypuff pink. Also, Kirby says "Puu-rin!" (Jigglypuff's Japanese name being Purin) for the move, regardless of the game's current language settings. | |||||
King Dedede | Brawl Image | Smash 4 Image | Move | Description | ||
Link | File:Kirby link ssb.jpg | Boomerang | Looks similar to Sword Kirby, since the Sword Kirby hat is likely a reference to Link. The attack is similar to Kirby's Cutter ability from his own games. Unlike the original that Link uses, Kirby can throw the boomerang through solid walls if he is touching them, allowing a method of pseudo-sharking on stages like Hyrule Castle (especially from the Greenhouse side) or Dream Land. | |||
