Rathalos is a recurring monster from the Monster Hunter series. There are many different kinds of Rathalos, but this apparently looks like the Hardcore Rathalos. Rathalos first appeared in the original Monster Hunter, and it's description in Monster Hunter 3 states that "Rathalos descend on invaders from the sky, attacking with poison claws and breath of fire," which matches what he does in Smash.
