When the match begins, players begin the fight on a small section of the unnamed castle's roof, which is bombarded by heavy fire from catapults.  Eventually, the roof is blown to pieces, and the fighters fall to an inner section of the castle, which contains two platforms held in the air by immense statues.  The statues are breakable, and, when broken, drop the platforms.  This is not the end of the journey, however, as the floor again breaks, sending the players even further downward to an unknown area known only as the "underground". Some people have distorted the final "grey" background picture to reveal a magma-filled cavern. So far it is not known if the cycle repeats again.

Castle Siege is a Fire Emblem stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl based off themes and motifs from the series as a whole, rather than one particular title.
