- A Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros. 4 officially reveals Roy, Ryu, Suzaku Castle, Dream Land 64, Hyrule Castle, Peach's Castle, and various Mii costumes. It also announces that the update that adds these features, 1.0.8, is now released.

- The contents of the accidentally released 1.0.8 update to SSBU are datamined, confirming Roy and Ryu as downloadable content, correlating with previous datamining of the 1.0.6 update to SSB3DS. Other new content confirmed includes Suzaku Castle and Dream Land (64) as new stages in the Wii U version, and additional Mii Fighter costumes.
