Star Bits (スターピース, Star Piece) is Rosalina & Luma's side special move in SSB4.
Overview
When this move is used, Rosalina's Luma will quickly fire out a small number of Star Bits, which serves as a short range projectile. If Rosalina has no Luma in play, Rosalina will only wave her wand to no effect.
Customization
Special Move customization was added in Super Smash Bros. 4. These are the known variations:
- Floaty Star Bit: Fires a large star bit that moves slow and deals multiple hits.
- Shooting Star Bit: Shoots a single stronger star bit that travels far.
Origin
Star Bits are a common collectible item that appear in Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2. They can appear when Mario defeats an enemy with his Star Spin or hits a ? Block, and may also be found in various places in the levels themselves. They can even, though rarely, fall from the sky. Star Bits can be fired at enemies using the B button to temporarily stun them. They are also used as a sort of currency to feed Hungry Lumas, special Lumas who demanded to eat large amounts of Star Bits, upon which they would transform into a new planet or galaxy for Mario to traverse, or give him a 1-Up or health-increasing mushroom.
