- Playable character, stage, and item reveals are.
- Assist character reveals usually are (that is, Assist Trophies and Pokémon).

- The Japanese magazine CoroCoro confirms that it will reveal the entire roster of Super Smash Bros. 4 in the August issue. Additionally, it will reveal all of the stages in the 3DS version.

- Captain Falcon, Lucina, and Robin are revealed as playable characters in Super Smash Bros. 4. Chrom is confirmed to appear as part of Robin's Final Smash. Rayman will also appear as a trophy, despite being a third party character with no current connection to the Smash Bros. franchise.

- At EVO 2014, Mango, Hungrybox, and Armada take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Melee singles, and Hungrybox and Plup win Melee doubles.
- 6 July 2014
- At Kings of Cali 4, Mango, Armada, and Mew2King take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Melee singles, and Armada and Mew2King win Melee doubles.
