Star Bits are a common collectible item that appear in Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2. They can appear when Mario defeats an enemy with his Star Spin or hits a ? Block, and may also be found in various places in the levels themselves. They can even, though rarely, fall from the sky. Star Bits can be fired at enemies using the B button to temporarily stun them. They are also used as a sort of currency to feed Hungry Lumas, special Lumas who demanded to eat large amounts of Star Bits, upon which they would transform into a new planet or galaxy for Mario to traverse, or give him a 1-Up or health-increasing mushroom. | Star Bits are a common collectible item that appear in Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2. Star Bits (スターピース, Star Piece) is Rosalina's side special move in Super Smash Bros. 4. Rosalina's Luma, if one exists, will quickly fire out a small number of Star Bits, which seem to serve as a projectile with relatively short range. It is unknown what effect the move will have if there is no Luma in play, if any.
