Around fall of 2006, KoRoBeNiKi was told about online ''Super Smash Bros.'' by {{Sm|MattNF}}. At the start, he had some trouble getting used to the game. He started out using {{SSB|Luigi}}, {{SSB|Captain Falcon}}, and {{SSB|Donkey Kong}} but he did not short hop and was overall a below average player.

During January 2007, SuperBoomFan allowed him to join the crew PPS (though, it was mostly because of being a Falcon user and a friend of MattNF). He was the 4th or 5th player to join the clan and joined around the same time as {{Sm|Fireblaster}}. KoRo started to main {{SSB|Yoshi}} after barely losing a Yoshi only tournament to the top Yoshi main at that time.

His original tag in tournaments was GCLU, for his first/last initial and being a Luigi user, but he quickly changed it to KoRoBeNiKi (the ''Tetris'' music) after joining [[Smashboards]]. Currently, Luigi is his main character with {{SSBM|Ganondorf}}, as well as {{SSBM|Captain Falcon}} being a secondary.

KoRoBeNiKi bought ''Brawl'' a few days after it was released. He primarily mains {{SSBB|Luigi}}, due to Luigi being his main in ''Melee'', and liking the fact that Luigi can combo heavily in a non-combo heavy game. He secondaries {{SSBB|Marth}} {{SSBB|Falco}} and {{SSBB|Mr. Game and Watch}}. In low-tier tournaments, his mains are {{SSBB|Captain Falcon}}, {{SSBB|Pokémon Trainer}} and {{SSBB|Mario}}. He did main {{SSBB|Ness}} in these tournaments before Ness was moved into the mid tiers. KoRoBeNiKi has mostly quit ''Brawl'' due to the dominance of {{SSBB|Meta Knight}}, though he went to some national ''Brawl'' tournaments such as [[Apex 2012]].
===Online ladders===
On [[SBR]] when KoRoBeNiKi played there, his rank was between 50 and 100 out of the around 1300 ranked people before he stopped going there when the doubles ladder was never made.
On the earlier [[AllisBrawl]] ladders, KoRo placed around the top 200 to 300 people. In the most recent ladders, he hasn't had as much success and as of now he is very rarely playing Wi-Fi ''Brawls''.
KoRoBeNiKi, similar to other AiB members to show that GameBattles was a joke, entered the ''Brawl'' ladder for GB as well. He got to the top 10 places very easily using secondaries. KoRo has been banned from the GB forums due to advertising AiB and has since quit.
