While some consider him to be the best Ike in the world (as San is currently inactive in the community), this has yet to be solidly proven on an international scale. He is ranked 3rd on the [[Florida Power Rankings|Florida Power Rankings]]. Ryo is popular in the Florida community and is well-liked by everyone who knows him.

| Originally playing [[Roy (SSBM)|Roy]] before Brawl came out, Ryo moved from Melee to Brawl and took up Ike when he learned that Roy was not on the roster.

| Ike's [[Uair|Uair]] has been affectionately nicknamed the '''Ryo-copter''' after Ryo himself, as he has scored many impressive KOs using it in matches. There is also a running joke in the Florida circuit about the size of Ryo's genitals. The "Ryo's Dick" meme is often used when a stylish KO is scored, more than often (if not solely) when using Ike, and particularly when using the Ryo-copter.
