“ | When it's fully-charged, Roy's destructive Flare Blade delivers an instant KO. | ” |
Flare Blade is Roy's neutral special move. Marth has a similar move, named Shield Breaker. Flare Blade can be charged for up to five seconds by holding the B button, and when fully charged, it inflicts 50% damage to the opponent and delivers a one-hit KO to even the heaviest characters in the game, although this may not work on larger stages, such as Temple. Roy takes 10% recoil damage from the explosion of the fully charged attack, whether it hits the opponent or not. If Roy releases the attack one frame before it is fully charged, it will deal 41% and more knockback than the fully charged attack. Flare Blade, additionally, has the potential to break shields when it is charged up to a point.
Origin
This move is based on Roy's critical hit when he has the Sword of the Seals in Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi.
