The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |
Check out our project page for ongoing projects that SmashWiki needs help with. |

Revision as of 13:21, October 16, 2011
I am still highly uncertain whether we should have this sort of page. While it's currently pretty well-written and generally contains only the facts, having it around will attract more rumours and such than not having it (since making a page takes a lot more effort then editing one), and since the game isn't expected to have anything worth Nintendo telling us about until 2013 or something, the page'll just sit here attracting dust and garbage. You forgot the thing about the custom character. --RoyboyX Talk 08:16, 6 October 2011 (EDT)
Add this to the rumours section. As well as the customisation thing. ToastUltimatum Complaints Box 09:19, 6 October 2011 (EDT)
- Can you provide a source for the customisation thing? Also remember to link to images on talk page, rather than placing the image directly on the talk page. Omega Tyrant 10:34, 6 October 2011 (EDT)

Here's a link to the whole Universe rumor can it be added to the page http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/rumor/27912 BlindColours ...PUNCH!!! 14:31, 8 October 2011 (EDT)
- That is unlikely to be true, as Sakurai's signature on that document is not his regular signature with a Kirby face. Mr. Anontalk 15:05, 8 October 2011 (EDT)
Not to get all speculatory on things, but if Square is indeed involved in Smash 4, who other than a certain character from an SNES game (which is very unlikely) is likely to appear? Some FF person? --RoyboyX Talk 15:25, 8 October 2011 (EDT)
"Current Information" paragraph/section
I can't edit this article, so I'd like to make a prose-like section for the "Current Information" section.
"As development on Super Smash Bros. 4 has not officially started yet, little information is presently available on the game.
Presently, only information about the development date has been officially confirmed: Sakurai has said that development will potentially begin in October, or at the very least, after he has finished development for the game Kid Icarus: Uprising.
Sakurai has stated, in response to a fan asking him about whether a "child Link" would appear in the game, that he has not currently decided on who would appear in the game. Sakurai, however, has also said that he "can't say that it's entirely out of the realm of possibility that some Capcom character could appear in the next Smash Bros." Capcom's Yoshinori Ono also has stated he has an interest in creating a Nintendo vs. Capcom game, in a vein similar to the Marvel vs. Capcom series. [2]"
Incidentally, is it possible to semi-protect this page instead of giving it full protection? It seems kinda extreme at this point... ReiDemon 15:41, 8 October 2011 (EDT)
- Registered users are just as likely as IP to add speculation to this article. Once development begins and actual information is released, I think we can downgrade the protection. Omega Tyrant 16:50, 8 October 2011 (EDT)

Here's the important parts of the article;
"Sakurai wants players with the 3DS version of Smash Bros to build up their character through battle and rewards. Then they could take their custom character over to the Wii U version to face off against everyone."
He also said that he's "aiming for the 3DS version to offer players a slightly different experience from conventional Smash Bros. games."
Sakurai said they "wouldn't be a mere extension of Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl." He "did not feel that it would be right to just increase the volume, adding 50 characters or doubling the stages for instance."
"Wii U is an HD system and this version could offer 60 frames per second visuals, high quality graphics, dynamic effects, and smooth character movements."
He believes that "there is merit in having skilled and unskilled players play together, so one emphasis will be on elements of players helping one-another."

And also, {{SSBSeries}} should be placed at the bottom of the page. ToastUltimatum Complaints Box 10:57, 16 October 2011 (EDT)
