DarkLouis is considered to be the best Super Smash Brothers Brawl Player in the Northwest Ohio region due to his outstanding tournament performance in the 2009-2010 school year at the University of Toledo. He has taken 1st place in both tournaments of the local "Smash Bash" series and took 1st at BASHCon XXV, a very popular gaming convention held in Toledo, OH. At BASHCon XXIV in 2009, he was defeated by Brian Riazzi, a local Snake player. At BASHCon XXV, he lost a grand finals set to Zachisasian, a local Yoshi player, but came back to win the tournament in the 2nd set.

DarkLouis has not been power ranked in MI nor OH yet, due to lack of ability to travel to tournaments and decent tournament placings at his few tournament appearances. However, in Spring/Summer of 2010, he has been consistently making top 8/top 12 placings and has defeated power-ranked players such as Akashi and Quik. He has been to 1 national and placed 49th/250 at MLG Columbus.

His weaknesses in the game include playing patient, the Olimar and Falco matchups, doubles in general, and last-stock situations.
