Shield platform dropping is an advanced technique exclusive to Super Smash Bros.
What is it
Shield platform dropping is dropping under the platform after shielding. It cannot be done in Super Smash Bros. Melee nor in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, since to shield > down = Sidestep.
How is it useful
Shield platform dropping opens a larger possibility of comboing, techchasing, edgeguarding and mindgaming. The player can run and pass under the platform, which cannot be done without shielding. This technique is not well known, so those who do know it can trick people with it.
