Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll, really, but more of a popularity contest to see who is the better fighter. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

The Rules, Briefly

Functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that week. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, just vote if you are a total fanboy of the character. You may vote only once. Once you voted, your decision is final and you cannot change your vote. If you are a user, please include your vote in the user section. If you are not a user, please include your vote in the anonymous section. It is important to do this because user votes will be 1 pts and anonymous votes will only have 1/2 a pt. Votes put in the wrong section will be deleted. Users who do not log in when they vote will be considered anonymous IPs, and their votes also will be deleted. When a new fight is created (which is every Friday), the previous fight's votes will be totaled and its winner decided. The fighter with the most votes WINS!!

Not only was this the start of one of the most well-known games in Gaming History, but it was the debut of Mario (in platforming play; his first appearance was as Jumpman in Donkey Kong), and the debut of one of the most well-know Video Game Theme Songs ((known officially as Mario's Theme) in Video Game History.   9. My vote would have been swayed on the fact I've never played Melee, so that's unfair. Instead, let's look at it differently...global warming. Heh, Icicle Mountain would be melted to mere nothingness whilst the Mushroomy Kingdom will come out virtually unscathed since its a wasteland anyway.   12. Good old memories... Don't you remember the first Super Mario Bros. ? It's an incredible game ! I think this game is the most-played game in the world ^^ So I vote for the never-gets-old Kingdom. I also love the "y" in "Mushroomy". I like the variety. The series has so many items, characters, stages, bosses, and enemies to choose from and I don't like concentrating solely on characters when we have so many other choices. Solar flute (talk)

Sure, stages are far more interesting to pit against each other every once in a while; people easily sum up a character's weaknesses versus the other, but it's harder to define those weaknesses when it comes to stages and, as Solar Flute said, even items. Anyway, I never played Icicle Mountain before, is it like Brawls Rumble Falls (or the Glacial Peak in The Subspace Emissary? --<(o_^<) Jackton (>^_o)> (talk) 11:39, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Think Rumble Falls, but with ice, more variation in scrolling speed, and it also can sometimes scroll down. There's also times when it scrolls up about twice as fast as Rumble Falls's "SPEED UP". Miles (talk) 16:00, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
WHA...?! Faster than Rumble Fall's "Speed up"? Is that even...possible? Sounds somewhat unplayable. Like, Rumble Falls, you spend most of the time trying to survive over actually fighting. The Mushroomy Kindgom travels at a much more relaxed pace... It's a good idea to have stage fights. But ultimately as I said, it's a popularity contest too! So like, people are deciding which stage is better or whats their favorite SSB stage of all time! We should have more fights like these someday. Squallinoa 08 (talk) 01:47, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
