The Item Switch is an unlockable feature in Super Smash Bros by playing 75 Versus mode matches. The player can then switch items they want in the game and can also change the appearance of items to high or low. This option is not available in Single Player mode.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the player does not have to unlock this feature, as it is an deafult option. The player can switch any items that they do not want in battle. However, they cannot turn off the container items like capsules, barrels, and crates. Instead, they must turn all items off to get rid of all the container items. Strangely enough, the Party Ball is still changeable. With the use of an Action Replay, the player can increase the rate that an item appears on a stage using various codes.
