There is a slight delay between the time that the player kills Nana and when the game recognizes his or her success. This is intentional, as it prevents the player from simply killing both Ice Climbers. If they were able to do so, the Event Match would be much easier, as they could simply hit both off the edge and have Nana in front.

Your best strategy would be to use Jigglypuff. Grab Nana, toss here into the air, and do a mid-air rest attack. It might help to attack Popo a little first (without KOing him, of course) so that Nana flies farther.

Event Match 21: Ice Breaker is one of the 51 Event Matches from the Event Mode in Super Smash Bros. Melee. In this event match, the objective is to KO all the Nanas on either side of the stage in less than a minute. Nana is the Ice Climber wearing the pink. The Ice Climbers are located on the floating platforms on both sides of the stage. The only action the Ice Climbers do is jump. Killing Popo in this event will result in a failure.

This is intentional, as it prevents the player from simply killing both Ice Climbers. If they were able to do so, the Event Match would be much easier, as they could simply hit both off the edge and have Nana in front.
