This stage is retro style like [[Mushroom Kingdom]] and is based on the first level of the game game ''Sonic the Hedgehog''. The terrain is flat on the far left but dips into a curve that slants down then upward towards the right. Occasionally save points will come out of the ground and turn red if hit but this seems to have no effect on gameplay. A recognizable loop from the Sonic games stands in the background and a waterfall behind that. Various other terrain from Green Hill zone is evident like sunflowers, palm trees and the checkered ground. portions of the center ground can also be destroyed.

In a recent trailer, [[Sonic]] was seen running in Green Hill Zone from the [[Sonic (universe)]]. It similiar to the 3D model that was used for Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. It appears to be a stage as seen in leaked screenshots. It has not been confirmed by Nintendo.

Green Hill Zone is a Sonic themed stage appearing in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This stage is retro style like Mushroom Kingdom and is based on the first level of the game game Sonic the Hedgehog. The terrain is flat on the far left but dips into a curve that slants down then upward towards the right. Occasionally save points will come out of the ground and turn red if hit but this seems to have no effect on gameplay.
