Harriettheguy comes from author Michael Gerber, who had a joke title of a parody book he wrote, one being called Harriet the Guy. Harriet was succesful in Early 2006 after winning Wired Warfare tournaments several times. Ironically, Harriettheguy's tournament winnings were before he was any good. In April 2006, Harriet received training from some South FL blood, LW48_16, an old school Fox player, who taught Harriet how to combo. In early 2007, Harriet received further guidance for elegant game play from the great Rohins. Harriet's technical skills have become refined since he enrolled in college at UF due to constant exposure to very strong Central Florida players like the Cake Eaters and the crew CU LADAR.
A parody of [[Harry Potter]] called "Barry Trotter" by Michael Gerber had a joke title of his other works, one being called Harriet the Guy.

Harriet played 64 casually in 5th grade, then was introduced to Melee in 2004 by a high school friend. He hated it at first due to grabs not killing, but got competitive with some local high schoolers. Stumbled on video sets of Isaiah (Falcon) vs CJ (Sheik), witnessed the triple knees, and had to learn...no, live the Way of the Falcon. First tournament was at Wired Warfare in January 2006, where he made it to finals easily but had to face adversity in Bane's Falco. Harriet won since neither of them knew how Falco could combo Falcon at the time. Since then Harriet had been active in the tournament scene in the Tampa area, and faced other players like Fenrir, Goldwing, Lumbro and Mankosuki.  
 
In April 2006, Harriet received training from some SFL blood, LW48_16, an old school Fox player (who also mentored Noucles and Lambchops), who taught Harriet how to combo with Falcon and how aggressive a technically accomplished Fox could be. In early 2007, Harriet received further guidance from the great Master Rohins, who taught Harriet how to camp and introduced him to FL Smash history.  
Harriet's first major tournament was an Area 51 tournament in April 2007 where SWFL (DashizSWiz, Rockcrock, QDVS, Dewdadash, SheikSSBM to name a few) and UF (Phanna and Derf) came. Harriet was humbled when Rockcrock 4 stocked his Falcon with his Ganon on FD.
After arriving at UF in Fall 2007, Harriet's technical consistency and general approaching strats leveled up due to Derf and Rock training and frequent smashing with his soon to be crew mates Blade of Apollo and Raistlin. He currently plays Melee and Brawl and hopes that both games can co-exist, with players flowing freely between both games.
