Plusle & Minun are two Electric-type Pokémon from the Pokémon series. They look similar to each other and Pikachu. Their abilities Plus and Minus allow them to work very well together in a double battle.

Creature descriptions

Plusle and Minun are both extremely similar-looking yellow mouse Pokémon that look similar to Pichu as well. Plusle has red ears and a red plus-shaped tail, making it represent positive aspects of electricity, while Minun has blue ears and a blue minus-shaped tail, making it represent negative aspects of electricity.

Each specie has its own collection of Pokédex entries. For Plusle, it absorbs electricity by climbing telephone poles and draining power from them. Its primary behavior is to act as a cheerleader for fellow Pokémon. It releases electricity from its paws, and by shorting the electricity out in a specific fashion it creates pom-poms made of sparks for cheering. As Plusle cheers on its partner, it flashes with electric sparks from all over its body, and as its teammate puts out a good effort in battle, it shorts out its body to create the crackling noises of sparks to show its joy. If its partner loses, it cries loudly.

Minun, like Plusle, loves to cheer on its partners with pom-poms made of sparks, and is frankly more concerned about cheering on its partners than its own safety. It shorts out the electricity in its body to create brilliant showers of sparks while it is cheering, and if its partner is in trouble, it will give off increasing amounts of sparks. At a meeting of Pokémon academics, it was announced that simultaneous exposure to the positive electricity from a Plusle and the negative electricity of Minun will promote circulation and boost vitality. It does not like water, so in rain it takes shelter under the eaves of houses.

Trophy Description

Cheering Pokémon. Plusle and Minun produce positive and negative energy, respectively. They both love cheering on their partners and place the encouragement of their partners over their own safety. To cheer, they short their electric currents to produce sparks that grow in intensity as their partners get into trouble.

"Pra & Mai"

Plusle & Minun may or may not have been planned characters for Super Smash Bros. Brawl that were ultimately left out at the end. Hackers discovered a partially programmed character under the label "PRA&MAI". The hackers were unable to access much data about "Pra & Mai", so whether or not they were in fact intended to be Plusle and Minun is only speculation. However it might not have been them because if they would be on a tag team, like Ice Climbers, then they should have each had their own separate data like Popo and Nana did, and not together.
