Piranha Plants are a carnivorous plant in the Mario universe. There are many types of Piranha Plants, including they who don't come up from Warp Pipes when a character is on or beside them, the ones that do do it anyway, some spit fire, some don't have pipes, some aren't bound to one place, and so on.
In the Super Smash Bros. series
In Super Smash Bros.
Piranha Plants sometimes appear out of the Warp Pipes on the Mushroom Kingdom stage. They are enemies and don't seem to have a settled schedule between the two pipes. These are one of the easiest enemies to avoid in the entire Smash-series, as they won't appear if the character is on the pipe or on the side of the pipes. The pipes are also very low, making them easy to jump over.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Piranha Plants may sometims appear as stage elements on PictoChat. However, they don't go up or down, and they stay on the stationary platform. Also, Petey Piranha, the first boss of the Subspace Emissary, is a Piranha Plant. [1]
