The condor is a creature that appeared in the original Ice Climber. In the games, it would fly around the top of the mountain, while either Popo or Nana had to jump onto its talons to complete the bonus stage.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee, the condor appears in the Ice Climbers' Target Test stage, appearing in its original 8-bit, two-dimensional form, unlike the Topi and Polar Bear, which are both altered to have more realistic designs. It flies around at the top, carrying the final target.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it appears as the Ice Climbers' entrance, carrying the Ice Climbers into the stage. The Condor now appears more realistic, as opposed to having been in its original 8-bit form in Melee.
