The Grapple Beam is one of the moves learned in the Metroid games. In Super Smash Bros. it is Samus Aran's grab move and also acts as a recovery move (though the player has to aim to a wall). It can grab an enemy form far and bring him/her back to Samus, but if the character avoid the Grapple Beam Samus will be vunerable for a few seconds.
